Megawords

The most important thing to remember about Megawords is do dictate all of the words to the spelling student. Do NOT only dictate the words which are starred on the list. Reading the lists orally at the speed of 10 times the grade level is highly recommended and required for some students (i.e. 4th graders read 40 words per minute). A child can complete book one in one year by working on one page per day and testing on the words in one day. We recommend trying to complete two pages per day which will allow for more time to practice and test on the huge spelling list. Some Megawords books do not take one year to complete.
