Diagnostic Testing
- We begin by testing your child(ren) with our Woodcock Johnson Diagnostic Test. If you are not in Colorado, we will schedule a phone test, where we will have you call one of our testers here and send you a speakerphone and the visuals for the test. The tester will then call you at the appointed time and perform the test. If you are local, we will do the test one-on-one. Parents are welcome to sit in on the test, however we ask that you sit behind your child to ensure that the child is not distracted. You can print our Individual and Family Profiles off the web, as well as our Umbrella School Enrollment Form and send them to us with the test visuals (see bottom of page). These forms assist in the curriculum design, as the test only provides a snapshot of your child's skills. The profiles give us more of "the big picture" of how your family works together, potential home schooling pitfalls. The cost fot the test is $110 paid on testing day.
Custom Designed Prescriptive Curriculum
- When your testing is scheduled, we will also schedule your consultation with Teri Spray. Again, local families we prefer to do face-to-face, if not, we can do it over the phone. At the consultation, you will give your feedback on the curriculum Teri prescribes for your child. Because each child has his/her own curriculum design especially for their needs, learning problems are "no problem". Furthermore, you will receive lesson plans for all curriculum chosen at the consultation. You as the parent have the final say in any and all curriculum choices. We can order your curriculum for you, if you wish, or we can help you get it on your own. Please give us 60 days from the time of testing to have all of your books in hand.
- Also at your consultation, you will receive your Training Manual which has all of the forms needed for the year as well as invaluable information. Teri has compiled CDs to go along with the manual, of her walking you through it step by step.
- Curriculum is priced per item as needed. Families save hundreds of dollars each year by using appropriate materials and not a trial-and-error approach to their children's education.
Elementary age children average between $200-$350 a year (includes all student and teacher materials needed)
High School students average between $300-$450 per year (includes textbooks, teacher's editions, tests, workbooks, quizzes, etc...)
We also provide special functions, field trips and parent training programs. We send out regular publications of newsletters and unit study ideas. Our staff prays daily for your home, your family and your child's education.
How Do I Enroll?
- Call our office to receive paperwork (or print online) and the phone number of a tester in your area
- Set an appointment for testing and curriculum design (preferable to have both parents at design time)
- Take paperwork and payment with you to testing day
- We will send home any pre-paid books that we have in stock on the day of your consultation, and mail the books that have to be ordered.
