Here we study the Western Hemisphere and we get into early American history through the War for Independence. This volume is a nice place to start with younger students. Though science is woven throughout the unit study, Junior and Senior High students will need to supplement the science activities with a text.

•  Natural North America: study the continent before exploration-the geography, climate, plants, animals, wildlife and natives
• Central America: study deserts, foods and the waters of the Caribbean
• South America: study history, culture, and jungle life including a Brazilian "chocolate day"!
• Explorers: chart early explorations and play a fun board game
• New World Missions: study the lives of missionaries who broke ground in this nation
• Early Settlers: make a tin punch lantern, try candlewicking, candle making and basic quilting, and learn basic machines
• Young Nation Under God: study the path of the War for Independence and dramatize a play about the Revolutionary War. The more the play is practiced, the more information is remembered!
