Confession of a Child of God

by Teri Spray

(Exodus 20)

For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. Romans 7:22
Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments” John 14:15

I choose to love the Lord my God with my whole heart, my whole mind and my whole strength. I choose to love others as much as I love what God has made in me.

You shalt not have any other Gods above me.

I choose to put you first in ALL things.

Thou shalt not make for yourself any graven image.

I choose to keep myself away from idols and not focus on things on this earth.

Thou shalt not use the name of the Lord your God in vain.

I choose to reverence honor and revere the name(s) of God.

Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

I choose to keep the Sabbath each week and trust and rest in the Lord each day. (Hebrews 4)

Honor thy father and thy mother.

I choose to walk in and speak words of honor to my parents and those placed in authority over me.

Thou shalt not kill.

I choose to speak words of life at all times. I choose to walk in actions which bring life and not death everywhere I go.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

I choose to keep my thoughts, eyes and hands pure for my marriage. I choose to serve my mate and my God with loyalty.

Thou shalt not steal.

I choose to acquire and use only those things which God has provided to me. Anything which does not belong to me, I choose to return to its rightful owner.

Thou shalt not bear false witness.

I choose to speak the truth in love to and about each and every person you bring to me. I choose to only speak words which edify.

Thou shalt not covet.

I choose to be contented with my own home, my own family and my own belongings. Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give thee the desires of thine heart. (Psalm 37:4)
